GGV Capital Welcomes Former Baidu Executive David Zhu

GGV Capital

Today we are welcoming David Zhu, a former executive and long-time colleague from Baidu as the newest member of our team.  We’ve known David for more than 12 years starting when Jixun was an early investor and board member at Baidu. Since then we’ve worked together on a number of projects, most notably Social Touch, a top social media management platform, which was formed by GGV Capital and Buddy Media, and E Dian Bao (EDB) which supports more than 2,000 e-tailers on Taobao.

We founded GGV Capital in 2000 with the idea that investing in the world’s two largest economies was paramount for helping start-up companies become global leaders. By focusing on global trends from both geographies, we see opportunities through a different lens and entrepreneurs count on us to help them navigate these unique opportunities.  With 13 years of success with companies such as Alibaba, AAC Acoustics, Buddy Media, Chukong Technologies, Kingsoft, Meilishuo, Pandora Media, Qunar, UCWeb, Youku-Tudou, and others, our consistent strategy of backing leading companies led by entrepreneurs focused on “going long” in the US and China has been validated.

We are excited to expand our team with the addition of David who shares our vision for creating global leaders.
