Fumin Zhuo joined GGV Capital in 2008 as a Managing Partner. Zhuo is a founding director of Venture Star, and a founding partner of SIG Capital Partners, an investment management and advisory firm in China that manages Venture Star. He currently serves on the board of directors of Focus Media (NASDAQ: FMCN), Shenyin Wanguo (HKSE: 218), and China Enterprises Limited (SSE: 6000).
Prior to founding SIG, from 2002 to 2005 Zhuo was Chairman and CEO of Vertex China Investment, the China division of the leading venture capital firm in Singapore, where he was responsible for the listing of a number of companies including Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corporation (NYSE: SMI), Linktone (NASDAQ: LTON), and China Finance Online (NASDAQ: JRJC). Zhuo previously served as CEO, Executive Director, and Vice-Chairman of Shanghai Industrial Holdings Limited (HKSE: 363), where major investments included Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corporation (NYSE: SMI), Shanghai Bright Dairy & Food Co. (SSE: 600597), Shanghai Jahwa Cosmetics (SSE: 600315),Lian Hua Supermarket, (HKSE: 980), SIIC South Pacific Hotel Co., CTrip.com International (NASDAQ: CTRP), and Clear Media (HKSE: 100).
From 1987 to 1995 Mr. Zhuo was the Senior Director of the Shanghai Office of Economic Reform, which led to the Hong Kong Stock Exchange listing of Shanghai Industrial Holdings, now a constituent stock of the MSCI Free China Index, the S & P Asia Pacific Index, and the FTSE/Xinhua China 25 Index.
Zhuo graduated from Jiao Tong University and received a Masters degree in Economics from Fudan University.
